Position Description:

Eastern Florida State College is currently seeking applications for the full-time position of Admissions/Records Specialist on the Cocoa Campus in Cocoa, Florida.

Salary & Benefit:

The annual salary is $27, 500.  Full-time employees of Eastern Florida State College receive fringe benefits including health insurance and a retirement plan.  Effective July 1, 2011 all employees eligible for participation in the Florida Retirement System will be responsible for a 3% contribution towards the applicable premium.

Position Concept:

The specialist will have direct contact with students and the general public in the Student Services Center.  Provide information and/or services to students related to the admissions, registration, and records areas.  Process and maintain all student records, ensure accurate information, student confidentiality and adherence to college policies.  This position requires excellent customer service skills, strict attention to detail and some evening hours.

Minimum Qualifications:

The minimum qualifications for this position include:

  • Associate’s degree from a regionally-accredited institution
  • One year experience working in a College setting or Business Office
  • Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office Software
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service and telephone skills
  • Accuracy, attention to detail, efficiency, and confidentiality
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse community and meet the needs of diverse student populations
  • Understanding of and commitment to Equal Access/Equal Opportunity
  • Official transcripts of all collegiate work will be required to be considered beyond the application phase*

*Official transcripts of all collegiate work must be sent directly from the attended institution to the Human Resources Office prior to the first day of employment.  All foreign degrees must have a course-by-course official evaluation and translation sent to the Human Resources Office directly from an evaluation company affiliated with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. (NACES).

Minimum physical qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing
  • Ability to occasionally lift, push, pull and/or move up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to access, input, and retrieve information and/or data from a computer
  • Ability to sit at a desk and view a display screen for extended periods of time
Notes:

Applications will be accepted from March 19, 2014 through March 30, 2014; however, the College reserves the right to extend or conclude searches without notice.  Applications must be submitted prior to 5:00 p.m. on the closing day.  This is a covered position under Chapter 295 Florida Statutes, which provides for Veterans’ Preference in employment for eligible veterans’ and eligible spouses of veterans.
